What will happen at the event?

At its core, the Kid S.M.[A.R.T.] Gala is a casual art gallery featuring art from young kids through college students in the community with the theme of Building Connections. In addition to live music and refreshments from the Gypsy Crepe Company food truck, there will be a silent auction (online and in-person) that includes the submitted art pieces as well as options such as a stay in Destin, FL, a game night basket, handmade and donated goods, and gift certificates from local businesses. Click the link below to begin bidding! All proceeds will go directly to supporting kids’ mental health.

What does the theme Building Connections mean?

Childhood is a time of rapid learning and discovery. Each new experience forms new connections in the brain, laying the foundation for the rest of our lives and influencing how we learn, relate to others, and see ourselves. Just like in our brains, we build connections through openness, creativity, and communication.

The theme Building Connections celebrates these links, the ones between science and art, between children and the community, and between possibility and reality. We are inviting you to contribute to this gallery and celebrate the ways in which children form connections that help them grow, dream, and thrive.

Can my art be displayed at the event?

Yes! You can submit art using the link below. Submissions will no longer be accepted for judging, but any submissions prior to November 16 will be displayed at the event. Art submitted before November 3 has been viewed by local art teachers, and selected pieces will be live auctioned at the event. There is a fee of $5 per submission. Selected artists will earn $100, three free tickets, and primary display at the event. All children or college students in middle Tennessee are eligible!
